New milestone for spinning machines
What does “Spinning a thread” mean? Spinning describes the process by which a yarn is made from fibres. The starting materials are, for example, cotton or polyester fibres. The fibres are cleaned, mixed, stretched and combined to form a fibre bundle with the aid of various machines. In order to achieve a certain strength, the fibres are twisted together on the spinning machine, the last machine in the spinning process. This is how yarn, colloquially also called thread, is produced. Rieter has now set a new milestone by further optimising the spinning process, or more precisely the spinning machine.
For the ring spinning machine G 38 and the compact spinning machine K 48, the textile experts have further developed proven solutions of the respective predecessor models and at the same time - through the use of synchronous motors - significantly reduced the energy requirement again. The electronically controlled drafting system drives with servo technology enable maximum flexibility. Customers benefit from a high-performance, reliable and high-quality machine with a wide range of spinning solutions.
The KEB mains off function guarantees a controlled delay of the drives until standstill in case of undervoltage, e.g. in case of a mains failure. The main motor switches to generator operation. The kinetic energy of the rotating spindle drive supports the DC link voltage of the KEB F5 inverter. In case of a power failure of up to two seconds, the machine automatically returns to the previous operating speed. In case of longer interruptions, the machine will shut down in a controlled manner. This prevents yarn breaks.
The Rieter machine control system is fed from the DC/DC converter in the KEB H6 multi-axis system. The device draws its energy from the DC link of the inverter. So the machine in this constellation can in case of a power failure control the drives in a defined speed ratio until standstill.
The space-saving KEB design enables optimum utilisation of the control cabinet. Due to the "Safe Torque Off" (STO) safety function on the spindle drive, the use of a mains contactor is not necessary. Water cooling also ensures optimum cooling of the drive controller and makes it possible to make the control cabinet fluff and dust proof. In order to further increase the operational safety of the inverters, KEB's circuit boards were designed with protective lacquer. By using the COMBILINE E6 EMC filter, the machine complies with the EMC directive IEC 61800-3-C1/C2.
