Power supply and regeneration units and active infeed converters

COMBIVERT R6 / H6-AIC / F5-AIC

Motor movement and regenerative processes take place in electric machines in order to ensure defined machine cycles. The generated energy is often burned up by braking resistors. KEB’s power supply and regeneration systems offer energy-optimised solutions for power compensation within a system, or direct regeneration of excess power in the supplying network.

COMBIVERT H6-AIC

ACTIVE-INFEED-CONVERTER

The COMBIVERT H6 AIC provides sinusoidal network supply and network regeneration with “PFC” (power factor correction) and acts as a voltage boost converter. It can be used in applications with a temporary or continuous mains supply when regeneration and a stabilised, controllable intermediate circuit voltage is required. The increased DC intermediate circuit voltage results in an extended speed range and therefore more torque in the field weakening range.

Highlights

  • Central power supply and regeneration for the H6 multi-axis system
  • Sinusoidal supply and regeneration with reactive power compensation
  • Power factor correction (PFC) and cos φ regulation
  • High-quality filter systems with common mode rejection
  • Stabilised, controlled DC voltage
  • Boost converter function and intermediate circuit stabilisation for improved motor efficiency → extended speed range and more torque in the field weakening range

Technology

Energy recovery

Rather than burning energy, why not harness it? With energy supply and recovery systems from our product range, machine and plant manufacturers are already optimising new machines during the design phase or creating a second phase of use for existing systems in retrofit manufacturing.

Energy recovery technology

EtherCat

EtherCAT is a global field bus standard that is suitable for all applications. Field bus communication, including safety technology, combines performance with universal availability – and is impressive due to its widespread market acceptance. Inexpensive and easy to implement, EtherCAT is the quickest industrial Ethernet technology. The communication profiles CAN over EtherCAT (CoE) and Ethernet over EtherCAT (EoE), as well as the CiA402 drive profile (IEC 61800-7), are integrated. Functional safety is also an integral component via FailSafe over EtherCAT (FSoE).

EtherCAT at a glance

Profinet

The drive profile according to CiA402 provides a standardised platform for drive controller-based automation. This is achieved by means of the modes of operation specified in the profile, in particular through the Profile Position Mode. The resulting relief of the PLC and cost optimisation with direct, undelayed access to the application enable economical and high-quality application solutions – consistent and manufacturer-independent.
